Contemplative Writers’ Group Posting Page

Here’s a place where you can post your writings from our meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month.  It’s also a place where you can respond to the writings of other writers, or suggest topics or exercises, or directions where you think the group should go.

Please post anything you like in the comment box, and I will check the comments and approve them to place them on the group page for viewing and sharing. I apologize for holding the ‘authority’ to have to check and approve your stuff, but that’s how wordpress works.

We can use this page as long as we like, or not. We can take it wherever we want it to go, or scrap it. Your input is much appreciated, and here’s hoping it will make our group meetings richer and more interesting, and help our writing in the process. Much love, Betsy

  1. “There won’t be any dinner left when you get home!” She called from the kitchen, which was the central room in my mother’s house.
She watched her daughter’s flip-flops make prints on the front hall tiles, as the 10-year-old girl bounded outdoors to her bicycle. The door slammed as usual, with a crinkly sound of the hardware that latched as it automatically clicked.
“When will that girl stay inside and settle down?” she muttered to herself with frustration in her eyes. She used the tension in her arm to peel the potatoes and start frying them in the hot skillet.
It was 6 PM exactly. Her husband parked his car on the street, in the same space it was parked in that morning. He had just driven home from the train station in the next town. He carried his briefcase just inside the front door, shouted, “Hellllooooooo,” and placed his things carefully in the front hall closet. Then he walked into the kitchen and patted his wife on the behind.
They kissed on the lips as they usually did on most nights, just a few minutes after 6 PM, as their daughter was nowhere to be seen. He went to their bedroom and changed out of his business clothes.
